Copernicus - The Man who moved the Earth. 

 

The author of "On the Revolutions of the Celestial Spheres", which begun revolution in astronomy in XV century, was born and lived in Kingdom of Poland. He was mathematician, astronomer, physician, classics scholar, translator, governor, diplomat, and economist. The author of a revolutionary theory that the Sun, not the Earth, was the centre of the planetary system. With our trip we would like to take you back in time and to bring you closer to the genius of Renaissance.

 

Day 1

Transfer from Warsaw airport/railway station to your hotel. 

Overnight in Warsaw.

Day 2

 

After breakfast your guide will pick you up from the hotel. We start our trip visiting Toruń where Copernicus was born and spent his childhood (with private transfer by car it takes under 3h from Warsaw). We visit house of the birth, Planetarium, Medieval Old Town listed in UNESCO, and... The Living Museum of Gingerbreads! The visitors can prepare dough by themselves and then bake the specialties of Toruń in traditional wooden molds.

Overnight in Toruń.

Day 3

 

After breakfast we take private transfer to Lidzbark (approx. 3h driving). Copernicus was his uncle's secretary and physician and resided in the Bishop's castle at Lidzbark (Heilsberg), where he began work on his heliocentric theory. The Warmian Bishop's Castle (previously owned by The Teutonic Knights) is almost untouched by world wars and is considered to be a great artistic and historical value in the world. In the afternoon, we move to Frombork, where Copernicus spent his last years on science work. Overnight in Gdańsk.

Day 4

 

After breakfast at your hotel you will be transferred to airport/railway station in Gdansk for your departure.
