Lublin city break – History and Culture

Lublin is the largest city in Eastern Poland. With 5 public universities it is perceived as one with the youngest population. It is also an important regional cultural capital with calendar full of exciting events.

Lublin has not suffered major destruction during the World War II. The Old Town felt a victim more during communism period from inefficient municipal authorities and inhabitants with criminal past. But after the political transformation in early 90 last century, historical parts of the city started to regain their previous glamour.

With our tour we would like you to feel how the time goes by from Middle Ages to modern European city.

Please read the article about Lublin on our blog.

Day 2

After breakfast we will pick you up from the hotel and start our tour in Lublin Castle and its top treasure in Holy Trinity Royal Chapel – frescoes with Byzantine styles from 15th century.

At present there is a museum with many interesting exhibitions, however the Castle has his dark history. It served as a prison for almost 130 years.

Later on we walk to the Old Town and climb over 200 steps on the impressive Trynitarian Tower from where we could see beautiful panorama of the city.

Then we visit Lublin Underground Route with spectacular multimedia show of the great fire of Lublin from 17th century.

From the Old Town we walk through the most representative street – Krakowskie Przedmieście to Litewski Square, with spectacular multimedia shows at the fountains during summer.

We taste the most delicious home made ice cream in the region and have some refreshment in the coolest bars & cafes in Eastern Poland.

Overnight in Lublin.
