Currency/exchange
Polish currency is zloty (PLN). One zloty is 100 groszy.
Coins: five, two and one złoty, groszy coins: 50, 20, 10, 5, 2 and 1.
Notes: they come in 200, 100, 50, 20 and 10 zł notes.
There are exchange offices (kantor in Polish) at the airports, train stations, banks (closed on weekends!!!), post offices and shopping malls.
Exchange rates are fluctuating on daily basis, therefore we recommend to check it every time you seek for updates here.

Most shops, restaurants museums accept credit cards, the most popular are VISA, MasterCard, and Maestro. American Express and Diners may not be accepted as well as traveller’s cheques.
IMPORTANT: A flow of tourists makes pickpocketing and petty theft popular. Make sure your wallet, mobile, camera and expensive jewellery is out of reach of pickpockets. Bags should be zipped closed, do not leave them on the table or chairs.
Poland is no different from other countries but the risk is rather medium than high.
