Warsaw and Treblinka death camp private tour

(in memory of Janusz Korczak)

20th January 1942 in Wannsee (near Berlin) the Nazis held a conference where they discussed the implementation of what they called the “Final Solution of Jewish Question”.

See more details (click here).

As a result of that meeting the Nazis set up death camps in Treblinka, Bełżec and Sobibór, where they began systematic extermination of Jews.

In Treblinka around 800,000 Jews were murdered from July 1942 – till August 1943. One of them was Janusz Korczak with his 200 orphans.

On August 2, 1943, an armed uprising organized by prisoners broke out in the camp.

Out of 840 people only 200 managed to escape. After the uprising, the camp was slowly liquidated.

The Nazis wanted to erase the traces of this cruel crime.

At present, there is a museum and symbolic monuments, a railways frame and tracks. Only the stones on the so-called "road to death" are authentic witnesses of that human tragedy…

This trip is to show you the places where Korczak lived and worked. This trip is in memory of this great man.
