Wieliczka – salt mine and wine tasting

Wieliczka is one of the oldest cities in Poland, famous for its distinctive salt mine, which has been on the UNESCO list since 1978.

But it is not only the salt mine that makes this place unique. Since the end of last century, the Lesser Poland wine industry has grown rapidly and to one of such vineyardswe would like to invite you. You will find there the fine varieties of European grapevine - Vitis vinifera - are grown (famous in Burgundy, Bordeaux, Champagne or Alsace).

Day 1

It was opened in the 13th century and closed in the last decade of the 20th century. At that time, 2040 chambers were built underground on 9 levels ranging from 75 to 327 m. These chambers are connected by shafts and drifts of the total length of 350km. The mine hosts underground concerts, theatre performances and even served as location for movies. Depending on your wishes you can choose a classic tourist route, a mining route, Mysteries of Wieliczka route into the virgin areas or “God Bless” pilgrims’ route.

This is a magical journey along the saline corridors of the labyrinth. You will experience the enchanting landscapes of chambers, discover the traditions and history of the Wieliczka mine.
