It was opened in the 13th century and closed in the last decade of the 20th century. At that time, 2040 chambers were built underground on 9 levels ranging from 75 to 327 m. These chambers are connected by shafts and drifts of the total length of 350km. The mine hosts underground concerts, theatre performances and even served as location for movies. Depending on your wishes you can choose a classic tourist route, a mining route, Mysteries of Wieliczka route into the virgin areas or “God Bless” pilgrims’ route.
