Wrocław City Break

Wroclaw is a city of over 1000 years of history. Throughout centuries, it had various names: Wratislavia, Bresla, Breslaw, Breslau and Wrocław at present. It may be hard to believe, that Wroclaw, located approximately 450 km from the sea coast, used to be a member of the Heanseatic League. Its dwellers were involved in the marine trade. Magnificent houses in the old town reflected the wealth of merchants. It is also not a wide knowledge, that in the 30s of 20th century, those beautiful old town buildings were planned to be destroyed and replaced by modern office buildings made of concrete! Luckily, this plan did not come into life and now we can admire the history in its full glory.

Direct flights from many UK regional airports are available through Ryanair from Bristol, Stansted, Liverpool and Glasgow, and Wizz Air from Bristol and Luton. High-speed Pendolino trains from Warsaw take about 3½ hours.
